Since the worlds most stressful class is what prompted the creation of this blog, I figured I should tell/show y'all a little bit of what we did... other than blogging.
The Final Product:
Hours and hours of work went into that cardboard pod. We were to design a pod that could house a mother and her infant within a much larger homeless shelter of sorts. The pod itself would have no plumbing or electricity but really just be a place for storage/sleeping/and taking care of the infant.
They could have roofs that raised and lowered up to four feet, and could extend out to the front four feet as well.
For some reason I thought a murphy bed was a really smart idea... building a working one out of cardboard is not easy. Especially knowing that it had to all collapse down into this:
It was a long quarter to say the least.
However, It kicked off a really fantastic trip with some girlfriends out to Colorado. We did a little of this:
this:
and this:
It was wonderful and followed up by a lovely weekend at the river with the fam.
Now it's back to the grind and a new set of classes. This time we get to create a home from scratch within an unfinished high-rise. But we don't have to build it this time :)
